The Matchups

All five, with picks.

madmaxmans13 vs. ChrisConte47

madmaxmans13: Lamar Jackson, Kyren Williams, Chase Brown, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Ladd McConkey, Juwan Johnson, Zay Flowers, Jadarian Price, SEA
ChrisConte47: Josh Allen, Jahmyr Gibbs, Travis Etienne, Nico Collins, Jaylen Waddle, Harold Fannin, Parker Washington, Jayden Reed, JAX

Max is starting Juwan Johnson at tight end over George Kittle, which is the correct call — Kittle's still on PUP with the Achilles and may not clear in time for Melbourne. Good process. Jordyn Tyson on IR, also handled.

Which makes the flex that much stranger. Jadarian Price is starting over a fully healthy J.K. Dobbins and a fully healthy Stefon Diggs. No injury designation on either. Max navigated two genuinely tricky calls correctly and then, on the easy one, started the rookie. Baffling. Confident, though.

Conte's problem isn't judgment, it's attrition. Henderson is ruled out, Charbonnet's on PUP, and Mike Evans just spent all of camp cycling through three separate soft-tissue injuries. Parker Washington and Jayden Reed in the flexes aren't a decision — they're what's left.

Pick: madmaxmans13

Burrow My Face in TDs vs. Haasinator5

Burrow My Face in TDs: Joe Burrow, Kenneth Walker, David Montgomery, Puka Nacua, Malik Nabers, Mark Andrews, Brian Thomas Jr., Breece Hall, DET
Haasinator5: Justin Herbert, Saquon Barkley, Javonte Williams, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Luther Burden, Kyle Pitts, DeVonta Smith, Terry McLaurin, NE

Best team name in the league and, annoyingly, one of the best rosters. Puka, Nabers, and Brian Thomas Jr. is a frightening receiving corps with Breece Hall as a flex luxury.

The one genuine gamble: Nabers is a coin flip. ACL recovery, questionable, hasn't committed to playing, and Chuck has a healthy Chris Godwin and a healthy Josh Downs sitting behind him. Locking in a game-time decision when you're holding two functional replacements is how you end up posting a zero at a starting spot and explaining it in the group chat.

Haas has Saquon and a plan. Kyle Pitts is starting at tight end in the year 2026, which at this point isn't a lineup decision so much as a personality trait. DeVonta and McLaurin in the flexes: safe, fine, deeply unexciting. The chicken entrée of fantasy lineups.

Pick: Burrow My Face in TDs — if Nabers suits up

alindeman vs. TheBuscho

alindeman: Caleb Williams, Christian McCaffrey, Jeremiyah Love, A.J. Brown, Emeka Egbuka, Sam LaPorta, Rome Odunze, Rico Dowdle, BAL
TheBuscho: Drake Maye, Bijan Robinson, Cam Skattebo, George Pickens, Tee Higgins, Brock Bowers, Christian Watson, Chuba Hubbard, DEN

Cleanest matchup on the board — no injury designations on either side, which means whoever loses this one has to own it entirely.

Lindeman built the "I believe in Chicago" roster: Caleb Williams throwing to Rome Odunze, with CMC as the load-bearing wall holding the whole structure up. Real team. Also one hamstring away from a group-chat apology.

Buscho's build is more evenly distributed. Bijan is a weekly cheat code, Brock Bowers scores like a WR1 from the tight end slot, and Pickens/Higgins is a perfectly serviceable starting pair. Nothing flashy. Everything functional.

Pick: TheBuscho

Fudge Friends vs. Tom DaBombadil

Fudge Friends: Trevor Lawrence, Derrick Henry, Ashton Jeanty, Ja'Marr Chase, DJ Moore, Tyler Warren, Bhayshul Tuten, Carnell Tate, PIT
Tom DaBombadil: Jalen Hurts, James Cook, De'Von Achane, Garrett Wilson, Davante Adams, Trey McBride, Colston Loveland, Rhamondre Stevenson, LAR

Game of the week. Fudge Friends have the best player on the field in Ja'Marr Chase, plus a Derrick Henry / Ashton Jeanty backfield that will either bury someone or produce two combined touchdowns and nothing in between.

Tom benched Mahomes for Hurts, which is right — Mahomes is questionable coming off the ACL and Kansas City may lean run-heavy easing him back. Sound call.

Less sound: starting two tight ends. McBride is a legitimate weekly edge. Colston Loveland in the flex is a choice, and a choice was made. There's something very Tom about rostering two franchise quarterbacks and then quietly building the most tight-end-forward lineup in the league.

Pick: Tom DaBombadil, narrowly

hodoryourhorses vs. louieyu2000

hodoryourhorses: Dak Prescott, Omarion Hampton, Quinshon Judkins, CeeDee Lamb, Chris Olave, Travis Kelce, Jameson Williams, Rashee Rice, PHI
louieyu2000: Jayden Daniels, Jonathan Taylor, Bucky Irving, Justin Jefferson, Drake London, Tucker Kraft, Tetairoa McMillan, D'Andre Swift, MIN

The commissioner's team. Sean drafted a roster full of guys who could be great — Omarion Hampton, Quinshon Judkins, Jameson Williams, Rashee Rice — which is another way of saying he drafted five coin flips and pencilled in a tight end whose best seasons are in a different decade. CeeDee is elite. The rest needs things to break right, and this week it needs several of them to break right simultaneously.

Louie quietly assembled the most boring-good team in the league. Jefferson, Jonathan Taylor, Bucky Irving, Drake London, Jayden Daniels. He also got the Tucker Kraft call right — Kraft's fully cleared from the ACL and says he's on no pitch count, so that's a live tight end while half the league is patching the position together.

Pick: louieyu2000

Preseason favorite

Burrow My Face in TDs — best roster, best name, one very large Nabers-shaped gamble.

Most likely to be fine and boring all year

louieyu2000. Meant as a compliment. Mostly.

Best injury management

madmaxmans13 and TheBuscho, who between them navigated a PUP, an IR, and zero self-inflicted wounds.

Worst decision with no excuse behind it

Jadarian Price over a healthy J.K. Dobbins. Max, there is no injury report defending you here.

Predictions are vibes-based and non-binding.
